At Home with

New York's official lockdown, PAUSE, started on 22 March 2020.

How different is your day now working at home now as an artist?
I am now struggling to fill my 4pm to 6:30pm slot which used to be my usual ping pong workout sessions.

What’s on your music playlist, movie or reading list?
I listen to songs by 李志and 尧十三 (Chinese indie musicians) on a continuous loop. I read through past articles written by Nadin Mai @artandslowfilm (www.theartsofslowcinema.com). Currently, I’m reading Conversations with Filmmakers by Jonas Mekas. Jonas told Susan Sontag to stop making films and now I’m intrigued with Susan’s visual interpretation of her universe.

A quote that has struck you particularly during this time.
“The only means of being great in life is having the consciousness that you will not retreat before death.”
- Jean-Marie Guyau

What’s the first thing you will want to do the minute the lockdown ends?
I would resume working on my project that I had started since last November.

What else do you miss, besides ping pong and walking on the New York streets full of strangers?
I miss poker. #socialdistancing
