Heman Chong presents "Embassy of Stanislaw Lem", a mobile book stall that operates at different places during the Biennale. Chong's work develops out of a process of accumulation; gathering together second-hand copies of Polish science-fiction author Stanislaw Lem's books (in both English and Polish), available for visitors to both peruse and purchase. The upcoming publication features works by Jimmy Ong produced chiefly over the past decade. It is the first detailed study of Jimmy Ong's art and thoughts by renowned art historian T.K. Sabapathy. It springs from lengthy, intense conversations between the artist and the writer. It furthers and deepens our understanding of the modern and the contemporary in the art of Southeast Asia. WYN-LYN TAN
We are delighted to announce the Singapore Art Museum's acquisition of 16 paintings by Wyn-Lyn TAN, from her last solo exhibition, The Blue of Distance. Displayed over four walls of the gallery, the viewer was invited to take this journey through time and space and experience the change of the seasons as the colour palette morphs and seeps from one painting into the next.
