Shane Ng (b. 1989, Singapore) is an artist and educator who primarily works in ceramics. Ng’s work explores the structural balance and disposition of objects in assemblages, often drawing attention to their configurations or spatial concerns. He is particularly interested in the animated quality or sense of motion, an evocative, subtle liveliness that is present in or lingers through the work. Currently focused on exploring the ways objects communicate meaning and evoke emotion, his work often draws on familiar, everyday things to spark fresh interpretations and narratives.

He earned an MA Fine Arts with Distinction from the LASALLE College of the Arts in partnership with Goldsmiths College, UK (2019), BA (Hons) Fine Art from Norwich University of the Arts (UK, 2015), and a Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts(2011). He is a winner of the Bishop’s Art Prize (Norwich, 2015) and a recipient of the Winston Oh Postgraduate Study Grant (2018). Ng has been teaching at LASALLE College of the Arts since 2019 and has been actively participating in multiple exhibitions in Singapore and the UK since 2014.

Ng lives and works in Singapore.
